On the internet, people are “social,” but very very curated. Every feeling, action, thought can be documented, but most only share the version of themselves they want everyone else to see. It’s less social, and more performative.
In the real world, social circles are small and have a tendency to become echo chambers. Those kismet, but genuine moments of connecting with a stranger are few and far between.
